We were standing at Arafah in a spot far from the main standing place when Ibn Murba al-Ansari came to us and said, "I am the messenger of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to you. He says, 'Remain at your ritual stations, for you are upon a heritage from the heritage of your father Ibrahim .'"
Reported by Abu Dawud (1919), Tirmidhi (883), Nasai (3014), and Ibn Majah (3011), all of them from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Amr bin Dinar, from Amr bin Abdullah bin Safwan, from Yazid bin Shayban, and he related it, their wordings being close to one another.Tirmidhi said, "The hadith of Ibn Marbaa Ansari is a hasan sahih hadith, and we do not know it except through the hadith of Ibn Uyayna, from Amr bin Dinar. Ibn Marbaa's name is Yazid bin Marbaa Ansari, and he is known only for this single hadith."It was reported by Imam Ahmad (17233), and Ibn Khuzayma declared it sahih (2818, 2819), as did Hakim (1/462), who said, "Its isnad is sahih."
