He used to love, whenever he was able, to pray the noon prayer at Mina on the Day of Tarwiyah, because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the noon prayer at Mina.
أنه كان يحب إذا استطاع أن يصلي الظهر يونى من يوم التروية وذلك أن رسول الله ﷺ صلى الظهر بمنى.
Imam Ahmad narrated it (6131), from Yaqub bin Ibrahim bin Saad, who said, my father told us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said, Nafi told me, from Ibn Umar, and he related it. Its chain of transmission is hasan, because Muhammad bin Ishaq explicitly stated that he heard it directly.
