Tirmidhi (961) and Ibn Majah (2944) both narrated it through Ibn Khuthaym, from Saeed bin Jubayr, who said, I heard Ibn Abbas say, (he then mentioned it). Its chain is hasan because of Abdullah bin Khuthaym, for he is one whose hadith is hasan. Imam Ahmad also narrated it (2215, 2398, 2643), and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih (2735), as did Ibn Hibban (3712) and Hakim (1/457), all through this route. Hakim said, "Its chain is sahih." Tabarani narrated it in Al-Kabir (11/182) through Bakr bin Muhammad Qurashi, who said, Harith bin Ghassan narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from Ata, from Ibn Abbas, and its wording is, "Allah will bring forth the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner on the Day of Resurrection, and they will have eyes, a tongue, and lips that will testify on behalf of whoever touched them with fulfillment." He added to it "the Yemeni Corner," but it contains Bakr bin Muhammad Qurashi and his teacher Harith bin Ghassan, who are both unknown, as Haythami said in Al-Majmu (3/242).On this subject there is also what was narrated from Abdullah bin Amr, who said, the Messenger of Allah said, "The Corner will come on the Day of Resurrection greater than Abu Qubays, having a tongue and lips." Ahmad narrated it (6978), as did Ibn Khuzayma (2737) and Hakim (1/457), all through the hadith of Abdullah bin Muammal, from Ata bin Abu Rabah, from Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas, who mentioned it. Hakim said, "A corroborating narration with fuller detail has been reported for this hadith, though it does not meet the standard of the two Shaykhs, since they did not rely on Abu Harun Umara bin Juwayn Abdi." Dhahabi said in his Talkhis, "Abdullah bin Muammal is feeble."I say, Abdullah bin Muammal bin Hibah Makhzumi Makki is daif by the agreement of the scholars, except for Ibn Main, for Abbas Duri reported from him, "His hadith is sound (salih)." Ibn Abu Khaythama and others reported from him, "He is daif."As for the corroborating narration Hakim pointed to, it is what he narrated with his chain from Abu Saeed Khudri, who said, We performed hajj with Umar bin Khattab, and when he entered the area of tawaf he faced the Stone and said, "I know that you are a stone that neither harms nor benefits, and had I not seen the Messenger of Allah kiss you, I would not have kissed you." Then he kissed it. Ali bin Abu Talib said to him, "No indeed, Commander of the Faithful, it does harm and it does benefit." Umar said, "By the Book of Allah?" Ali said, "And where is that found in the Book of Allah?" Umar said, "Allah said, "And when your Lord took from the descendants of the sons of Adam their offspring and made them testify concerning themselves, saying, 'Am I not your Lord?' They said, 'Yes indeed'" [Araf 7:172], Allah created Adam, wiped over his back, and made them acknowledge that He is the Lord and that they are servants, and He took their pledges and covenants, and wrote that down on a scroll. This Stone had eyes and a tongue, and He said to it, 'Open your mouth,' so it opened its mouth, and He placed that scroll in it, and said, 'Bear witness for whoever comes to you fulfilling his pledge, on the Day of Resurrection.'" Ali continued, "And I bear witness, for I heard the Messenger of Allah say, 'The Black Stone will be brought on the Day of Resurrection, having an eloquent tongue, testifying on behalf of whoever touches it, to the oneness of Allah.' So, Commander of the Faithful, it does harm and it does benefit." Umar said, "I seek refuge in Allah from living among a people among whom you are not present, Abu Hasan."Dhahabi said in his Talkhis, "Abu Harun is discredited (saqit)."I say, he is Umara bin Juwayn, with the jim as a diminutive, known by his kunya, whom more than one scholar has accused of lying, and he is a fervent Shia partisan.
