Imam Ahmad (253) and Abu Yaala (182) both narrated it from the hadith of Yahya, from Ibn Jurayj, who said, Sulayman bin Atiq narrated to me, from Abdullah bin Babayh, from Yaala bin Umaya, and he mentioned it. Its chain is sahih. Abdullah bin Babayh is also called "Babah," and he is one of the narrators of Muslim, and is trustworthy.If this is established, then it does not harm the narration that in some reports an intermediary appears between Abdullah bin Babayh and Yaala bin Umaya, in the wording, "from some of the sons of Yaala bin Umaya." Imam Ahmad (313) likewise narrated it from Rawh, from Ibn Jurayj, who said, Sulayman bin Atiq informed me, from Abdullah bin Babayh, from some of the sons of Yaala, and he mentioned it.Similar to this is what Abdul-Razzaq (8945) narrated from Ibn Jurayj with his chain, and its wording is, "I performed tawaf with Umar, and he touched the corner. I was on the side nearer to the House, and when we reached the western corner that adjoins the Black one, I pulled his hand so that he would touch it. He said, 'What is the matter with you?' I said, 'Will you not touch it?' He said, 'Did you not perform tawaf with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Did you see him touch these two western corners?' I said, 'No.' He said, 'Do you not have in the Messenger of Allah a good example?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Then keep away from it.'"End of quote. Bayhaqi narrated it (5/77) through the route of Yaqub bin Sufyan, who said, Abu Asim narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, with his chain, and in it, "Move past it."He quoted Shafii as saying, "As for the reason regarding these two corners, we hold that the House was not completed upon the foundations of Ibrahim, so they became like the rest of the House."
