The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The angels were created from light, the jinn were created from a smokeless flame of fire, and Adam was created from what has been described to you."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: خلقت الملائكة من نور، وخلق الجان من مارج من نار، وخلق آدم مما وصف لكم.
Muslim narrated it in Zuhd (2996) through several routes from Abdul-Razzaq. It is also found in his Musannaf (20904), from Mamar, from Zuhri, from Urwa, from Ayesha, as I have related it.As for what Abu Shaykh narrated in Azamah (315) from Abdullah bin Amr, with the addition, "from the light of the chest and the two forearms," that is daif, or munqati, or mawquf. And even if it is proven sound as coming from Abdullah bin Amr, it should be understood to mean that he found it written this way in the books of the earlier peoples, since he used to study them. For the sahih and firmly established version from Urwa, from Ayesha, is what I have related.
