Talq said, "I performed Tamattu, but some people forbade me from doing so. I went to Ibn Abbas and asked him about it, and he instructed me to proceed with it."He continued, "Then I went to the House and fell asleep, and someone came to me in my dream and said, 'An accepted Umrah and a blessed Hajj.'"He said, "I went to Ibn Abbas and told him what I had seen, and he exclaimed, 'Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! The Sunnah of Abu Qasim ﷺ.'"
تمتعت فنهاني ناس عن ذلك، فأتيت ابن عباس فسألته عن ذلك فأمرني بها. قال: ثم انطلقت إلى البيت فنمت، فأتاني آت في منامي، فقال: عمرة متقبلة وحج مبرور. قال: فأتيت ابن عباس فأخبرته بالذي رأيت، فقال: الله أكبر الله أكبر! سنة أبي القاسم ﷺ.
Bukhari narrated it in the book of Hajj (1567), and Muslim in the book of Hajj (1242), both via Shubah, who said, "I heard Abu Jamrah Dubai," and he related it. The wording given is that of Muslim, and the wording of Bukhari is similar, with this addition, "So he said to me, 'Stay with me, and I will give you a share of my wealth.'" Shubah said, "I asked, 'Why?'" He said, "Because of the dream that you saw."
