We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ crying out loudly in talbiyah for Hajj. When we reached Mecca, he commanded us to convert it into an Umrah, except for those who had brought sacrificial animals with them. Then on the Day of Tarwiyah, when we headed out to Mina, we entered the state of ihram for Hajj.
خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ نصرخ بالحج صراخا، فلما قدمنا مكة أمرنا أن نجعلها عمرة إلا من ساق الهدي، فلما كان يوم التروية ورحنا إلى مني أهللنا بالحج.
Muslim narrated it in the book of Hajj (1247) from Ubaydullah bin Umar Qawariri, who said, Abdul-Ala bin Abdul-Ala narrated to us, who said, Dawud narrated to us, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed, and he mentioned it.
