The Prophet ﷺ prayed Dhuhr in Medina as four units and Asr at Dhul Hulayfah as two units, and I heard them calling out both intentions together.
صلى النبي ﷺ بالمدينة الظهر أربعا، والعصر بذي الحليفة ركعتين، وسمعتهم يصرخون بهما جميعا.
Bukhari narrated it in the book of Hajj (1548), and Muslim in the book of the prayer of travelers (690), both from Hammad bin Zayd, from Ayub, from Abu Qilaba, from Anas, with this wording. The wording given is Bukhari's, and Muslim did not mention the last part, which is his statement, "and I heard them... etc."
