The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the Zuhr prayer in Madinah, praying four units, then prayed Asr at Dhul-Hulayfah in two units. He stayed there overnight until morning, then mounted his ride. When it stood up with him on the open plain of al-Bayda, he praised Allah, glorified Him, and proclaimed His greatness. Then he entered the state of consecration for both Hajj and Umrah, and the people did the same. When we arrived, he ordered the people to release themselves from consecration, until the Day of Tarwiyah came, when they entered consecration for Hajj.He said, the Prophet ﷺ sacrificed several camels with his own hand while they stood, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ also slaughtered two white rams with black markings in Madinah.
Bukhari narrated it in Hajj (1551), and Muslim in the Prayer of Travelers (690), both of them through Ayub, from Abu Qilaba, from Anas, with this wording. The wording given is Bukhari's, while Muslim confined himself to its beginning, mentioning only the prayer.
