The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are seven whom Allah will shade beneath His shade on the Day when there will be no shade but His. The just ruler. A young person who grew up worshipping Allah. A man whose heart is attached to the mosques. Two men who loved one another for the sake of Allah, meeting upon that love and parting upon it. A man whom a woman of status and beauty invited to herself, but he said, 'I fear Allah.' A man who gave charity so secretly that his left hand did not know what his right hand had spent. And a man who remembered Allah in solitude, and his eyes overflowed with tears."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: سبعة يظلهم الله في ظله يوم لا ظل إلا ظله: الإمام العادل، وشاب نشأ بعبادة الله، ورجل قلبه معلق في المساجد، ورجلان تحابا في الله اجتمعا عليه وتفرقا عليه، ورجل دعته امرأة ذات منصب وجمال فقال: إني أخاف الله، ورجل تصدق بصدقة فأخفاها حتى لا تعلم شماله ما تنفق يمينه، ورجل ذكر الله خاليا ففاضت عيناه.
Malik narrated it in the chapter on poetry (14) from Habib bin Abdul-Rahman Ansari, from Hafs bin Asim, from Abu Saeed or from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it. Muslim narrated it by this same route in the chapter on zakat (1031). Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on adhan (660), and Muslim in the chapter on zakat, both from the hadith of Yahya bin Saeed, from Ubaydullah, who said, Habib bin Abdul-Rahman narrated to me, from Hafs bin Asim, from Abu Hurairah, without doubt.His saying, "and Allah will shade them in His shade," meaning the shade of His Throne, as other hadiths make clear, and this is what the imams of the people of the sunnah and the community have said. We found none who disagreed with them, except that the theologians interpreted it as referring to mercy and care.
