Ibn Abbas reported that the Prophet ﷺ married Maymunah while he was in the state of ihram.

Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Marriage (5114), and Muslim in the Book of Marriage (1410:46), both through the route of Sufyan bin Uyayna, who said, Amr bin Dinar informed us, Jabir bin Zayd Abu Shatha narrated to us, that Ibn Abbas informed him of it, and he mentioned it.This is how Ibn Numayr narrated it. He said, Sufyan bin Uyayna narrated to us, with a chain like it, as found in Muslim. Then Muslim said, Ibn Numayr added, "I narrated it to Zuhri, and he said, Yazid bin Asam informed me that he married her while he was not in ihram."Yazid bin Asam, the son of the sister of Maymuna, the subject of the story, is one of the trustworthy, precise narrators, and his hadith will follow shortly.It appears from what Imam Muslim, may Allah have mercy on him, did that he intended to point out the disagreement over whether the Prophet ﷺ married Maymuna while he was in ihram or while he was not in ihram. This comes after he mentioned the hadith of Uthman bin Affan, "A man in ihram should not marry, nor give anyone in marriage, nor propose marriage."Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Military Expeditions (4258) through the route of Ikrima, from Abdullah bin Abbas, who said, "The Prophet ﷺ married Maymuna while he was in ihram, and consummated the marriage with her while he was not in ihram, and she died at Sarif."Bukhari said, Ibn Ishaq added, Ibn Abu Najeeh and Abu Aban bin Salih narrated to me, from Ataa and Mujahid, from Abdullah bin Abbas, who said, "The Prophet ﷺ married Maymuna during the Umrah of Fulfillment."Al-Hafiz said, "It is connected in the Sira, with the addition at the end, 'The one who gave her in marriage to him was Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib.' Ibn Hibban and Tabarani narrate, through the route of Ibrahim bin Saad, from Ibn Ishaq, with the wording, 'He married Maymuna bint Harith during that journey of his, meaning the Umrah of Fulfillment, while he was in ihram, and the one who gave her to him in marriage was Abbas.'
