A man was with the Prophet ﷺ when his she-camel threw him and broke his neck while he was in the state of ihram, and he died. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wash him with water and lote-tree leaves, shroud him in his two garments, do not apply perfume to him, and do not cover his head, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection calling out the talbiyah."In another narration, "Do not cover his head or his face, for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection calling out the talbiyah."
Bukhari narrated it in Jaza al-Sayd (1851), and Muslim in Hajj (1206: 99), both through the route of Hushaym (that is, Ibn Bashir Wasiti), who said, our teacher Abu Bishr (that is, Jafar bin Iyas Yashkuri) informed us, our teacher Saeed bin Jubayr related to us, from Ibn Abbas, and their wording is identical, except that Muslim said "matted" instead of "in the state of ihram reciting the talbiyah." The second narration in Muslim comes through the route of Amr bin Dinar, from Saeed bin Jubayr. Mansur followed him in saying "nor his face," narrating from Saeed, saying, "and do not cover his face," and likewise Abu Zubayr, narrating from Saeed, said, "and do not cover his face." This is evidence that the muhrim does not cover his face, just as he does not cover his head, and this will be discussed in detail later. On this subject there is also a report from Abu Hurairah, who said that the Messenger of Allah said, "Whoever sets out for Hajj and dies, the reward of the pilgrim is recorded for him until the Day of Resurrection. Whoever sets out for Umrah and dies, the reward of the one performing Umrah is recorded for him until the Day of Resurrection. And whoever sets out to fight in Allah's cause and dies, the reward of the fighter is recorded for him until the Day of Resurrection." Tabarani narrated it in Awsat (5317), from Muhammad bin Sari, who said, our teacher Ibrahim bin Ziyad Sablan related to us, our teacher Abu Muawiya related to us, our teacher Muhammad bin Ishaq related to us, from Jameel bin Abu Maymuna, from Ata bin Yazid Laythi, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.Tabarani said, "No one narrated this hadith from Ata bin Yazid Laythi except Jameel bin Abu Maymuna, and no one narrated it from Jameel except Muhammad bin Ishaq, and Abu Muawiya alone transmitted it."I say, in the chain is Jameel bin Abu Maymuna, whom Bukhari mentioned in Tarikh al-Kabir, and Ibn Abu Hatim mentioned in Jarh wa Tadil, neither of them mentioning any criticism or endorsement of him. Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Thiqat (6/146) and said, "Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated from him," and Tahdhib also mentions Layth bin Saad among those who narrated from him. Also present in the chain is the practice of Muhammad bin Ishaq narrating with an, and he is a mudallis. Haythami included it in Majma (3/209) and said, "In it is Jameel bin Abu Maymuna, whom Ibn Abu Hatim mentioned without mentioning any criticism or endorsement of him, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him."On this subject there is also what was reported from Ayesha as a raised hadith, "Whoever dies on this journey while performing Hajj or Umrah, and dies during it, will not be brought to account, will not be examined, and it will be said to him, 'Enter Paradise.'" Abu Yaala narrated it (4608), from Hasan bin Hammad, who said, our teacher Husayn, meaning Jufi, related to us, from Ibn Simak, from Aid, from Ata, from Ayesha, and he related it.Daraqutni narrated it (2778), and Khatib in Tarikh Baghdad (542), through another route, from Muhammad bin Hasan Hamdani, who said, our teacher Aid Muktib related to us, with his chain, similarly.Aid is Ibn Nusayr. Aqeeli said in Duafa (1447), "From Ata, munkar al-hadith," and he transmitted from Yahya his statement, "There is no harm in him, but he narrated munkar hadiths." In the narration of Uthman bin Saeed, he said, "I said to Yahya bin Main, 'Aid bin Nusayr, how is his hadith?' He said, 'Daif.'"Ibn Adi mentioned this hadith in Kamil (5/1992) among his munkar reports, and Muhammad bin Hasan Hamdani, Abu Hasan Kufi, is daif according to the majority of scholars, to the point that Nasai said of him, "Matruk," and he is among the men of Tahdhib.
