He asked Ayesha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, "How was the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during Ramadan?"She replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never exceeded eleven units of prayer, whether in Ramadan or any other month. He would pray four units, and do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he would pray another four, and do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he would pray three."Ayesha continued, "I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, do you sleep before performing the witr prayer?'He answered, 'Ayesha, my eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep.'"
Malik narrated it in "Prayer at Night" (9), from Saeed bin Abu Saeed Maqburi, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf, with the same chain.Bukhari narrated it in "Tarawih Prayer" (2013), and Muslim in "Prayer of Travelers" (738:125), both of them through the route of Malik, with the same chain.
