Nasai narrated it (1305) from Yahya bin Habib bin Arabi, who said, "Hammad narrated to us," who said, "Ata bin Saaib narrated to us," and he then related it.Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih in Kitab Tawhid (12), and from him Ibn Hibban in his Sahih (1971), and Hakim (1/524), and Darimi in Radd Ali Jahmiya (188), all of them via the route of Hammad bin Zayd with his isnad in a similar manner, within a long hadith. See Affirming the Face.Hakim said, "This is a hadith with a sahih isnad." He is correct in this, for Ata bin Saaib is trustworthy, the leading scholars affirmed his trustworthiness, though his memory became confused later in life. However, Hammad bin Salama narrated from him before that confusion set in.Nasai also narrated it (1306), as did Ahmad (4/264), and Tabarani in Dua (625), through another route which includes Sharik, that is, Ibn Abdullah the judge, who is weak in memory, but he is acceptable when supported by corroborating narrations.
