The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said about fasting every day of the year, "He has neither fasted nor broken his fast."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال في صوم الدهر: لا صام ولا أفطر.
It was narrated by Abu Dawud Tayalisi (1147), and from him Nasai (2381), Ibn Majah (1705), and Ibn Khuzayma (2150), all of them from Shuba, from Qatada, from Mutarrif bin Abdullah bin Shikhir, from his father, and he related it. It was also narrated by Imam Ahmad (16304, 16315) and Ibn Hibban (3583), both through two other routes from Shuba, with similar wording. The hadith has other paths of transmission from Qatada, all of them sahih. Among them is what Uzai narrated from him. Darimi (1785) narrated it from Muhammad bin Yusuf, from him. As for Mutarrif, he has another teacher, namely Imran bin Husayn, as will follow.
