She said that the people were uncertain whether the Prophet ﷺ was fasting on the Day of Arafah, so she sent him a vessel of milk while he was standing at the place of standing, and he drank from it while the people watched.
قالت: إن الناس شكوا في صيام النبي ﷺ يوم عرفة، فأرسلت إليه بحلاب وهو واقف في الموقف، فشرب منه، والناس ينظرون.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Fasting (1989), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Fasting (1124), both from the hadith of Ibn Wahb, who said, Amr informed me, from Bukayr bin Ashaj, from Kurayb, the freed slave of Ibn Abbas, from Maymuna, the wife of the Prophet, and he mentioned it. Maymuna was the daughter of Harith Hilaliyyah, the sister of Umm Fadl Lubaba.It came in the previous hadith that the one who sent the milk to him was Umm Fadl. So either the Prophet ﷺ drank milk more than once on the day of Arafah, since it was a hot day, or Umm Fadl and her sister Maymuna were in the same place, and the cup of milk was carried from where they both were to the Prophet ﷺ, so it was attributed once to Umm Fadl and another time to Maymuna.
