When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ withdrew from his wives, I said, "Messenger of Allah, you have only been in the chamber for twenty-nine days."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "The month consists of twenty-nine days."
لما اعتزل رسول الله ﷺ نساءه قلت: يا رسول الله، إنما كنت فى الغرفة تسعا وعشرين؟ فقال رسول الله ﷺ: إن الشهر تسعا وعشرين.
Ibn Khuzayma (1921) and Ibn Hibban (3453) both narrated it from the hadith of Umar bin Yunus, who said, Ikrima bin Ammar narrated to us, who said, Simak Abu Zumayl narrated to me, who said, Abdullah bin Abbas narrated to me, who said, Umar bin Khattab narrated to me, and he related it.Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Divorce (1479), from Zuhayr bin Harb, from Umar bin Yunus Hanafi, in a lengthy account concerning the story of his ﷺ withdrawal from his wives, which will come in its proper place.
