Imam Ahmad (22202), Tabarani in al-Kabir (8/340), and Bayhaqi in Shuab al-Iman (3605) all narrated it, all of them through the hadith of Abdullah bin Numayr, who said, Amash narrated to us, from Husayn Khurasani, from Abu Ghalib, from Abu Umama, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Abu Ghalib, the companion of Abu Umama, concerning whom there is disagreement, though his hadith is hasan when supported by corroborating narrations. Daraqutni and others graded him trustworthy, while others graded him daif. Munziri mentioned it in Targhib wa Tarhib (1516) and said, "Its chain is not problematic."
