Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to be brought dates at the time of harvesting the palm trees. One person would come with his dates, and another with his, until a heap of dates would gather before him. Hasan and Husayn began to play with those dates, and one of them took a date and put it in his mouth. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at him, took it out of his mouth, and said, "Do you not know that the family of Muhammad ﷺ does not eat from charity?"

عن أبي هريرة، قال

كان رسول الله ﷺ يؤتى بالتمر عند صرام النخل فيجيء هذا بتمره وهذا من تمره حتى بصير عنده كوما من تمر فجعل الحسن والحسين رضي الله عنهما يلعبان بذلك التمر فأخذ أحدهما تمرة فجعلها في فيه فنظر إليه رسول الله ﷺ فأخرجها من فيه فقال: أما علمت أن آل محمد ﷺ لا يأكلون الصدقة.
