The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever begs from people while he is well off will have his begging appear as scratches on his face on the Day of Resurrection."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: من سأل مسألة وهو عنها غني، كانت شيئا في وجهه يوم القيامة.
Ahmad (22420), Bazzar in Kashf Astar (932), and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (1407) all narrated it through the route of Yazid bin Zuray, from Saeed bin Abu Aruba, from Qatada, from Salim bin Abu Jaad, from Madan bin Abu Talha, from Thawban, and he related it.Munziri mentioned it in Targhib wa Tarhib (1209) and said, "Ahmad narrated it with narrators relied upon in Sahih."His statement, "a blemish," means a mark.
