Ayesha reported,
"Whoever tells you that Muhammad saw his Lord has lied, for Allah says, 'No vision can grasp Him' [Anam 6:103]. And whoever tells you that he knows the unseen has lied, for Allah says that none knows the unseen except Allah."

من حدثك أن محمدا رأى ربه فقد كذب وهو يقول: {لا تدركه الأبصار} [سورة الأنعام: ١٠٣]، ومن حدثك أنه يعلم الغيب فقد كذب، وهو يقول: لا يعلم الغيب إلا الله.
Bukhari narrated it in "Tawheed" (7380) from Muhammad bin Yusuf, who said, "Sufyan narrated to us, from Ismail, from Shaybi, from Masruq, from Ayesha," and he related it in full.Ismail here is Ibn Abu Khalid.Muslim narrated it in "Faith" (177) through another route, from Dawud bin Abu Hind, from Shaybi with his chain, in a more complete form than this, as in the chapter on the meaning of the words of Allah , "And he certainly saw him in another descent" [Najm 53:13], and on whether the Prophet saw his Lord on the night of the Night Journey.He abridged it through the route of Ismail bin Abu Khalid, from Shaybi, from Masruq, who said, "I asked Ayesha, 'Did Muhammadﷺ see his Lord?' She said, 'Glory be to Allah! My hair stood on end at what you said.'" And he continued the hadith with its full story. Dawud's version of the hadith is more complete and longer. End.
