We used to refrain from eating the meat of our sacrificial camels beyond three days at Mina, but the Prophet ﷺ permitted it for us, saying, "Eat and take provisions from it." So we ate and took provisions.I asked Ata, "Did he say 'until we reached Madinah'?"He replied, "No."
كنا لا نأكل من لحوم بدننا فوق ثلاث مني، فرخص لنا النبي ﷺ، فقال: كلوا وتزودوا. فأكلنا وتزودنا. قلت لعطاء: أقال حتى جئنا المدينة؟ قال: لا.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Hajj (1719), and Muslim in the Book of Sacrifices (1972), both of them through Ibn Jurayj, who said, Ata (that is, Ibn Abu Rabah) narrated to us, saying, I heard Jabir bin Abdullah, and he related it. The wording given is that of Bukhari.
