The Prophet ﷺ said, "No one drinks wine while he is a believer at the moment he drinks it, no one commits adultery while he is a believer at the moment he commits it, and no one seizes plunder of value, attracting people's gaze, while he is a believer at the moment he seizes it."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: لا يشرب الخمر حين يشربها وهو مؤمن، ولا يزني حين يزني وهو مؤمن، ولا ينتهب نهبة ذات شرف- أو سرف- وهو مؤمن.
Imam Ahmad narrated it (19102), and Bazzar in Kashf Astar (111), both from the hadith of Shuba, from Firas, from Mudrik bin Umara, from Ibn Abu Awfa, and he related the hadith. Bazzar said, "We do not know of any path for it from Ibn Abu Awfa except this path." I say, it is not as he said, rather it has other paths through Mudrik bin Umara, and this is the most sahih of them. Its isnad is hasan because of Mudrik bin Umara, who is Ibn Uqba bin Abu Muayt Umawi, one of the men mentioned in Tajeel, "He narrated from his father, who had companionship, and he narrated from Abdullah, that is, Ibn Abu Awfa. Firas Kharafi, Yunus bin Abu Ishaq, Layth bin Abu Salim, and others narrated from him. Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Thiqat and said, 'He is counted among the people of Kufa.' Others said, 'It is said that he had companionship, but that is a mistake.'" End of quote.Someone like this, there is no harm in grading his hadith hasan when it has sahih corroborating evidence.
