The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a man from the tribe of Banu Makhzum to collect zakat. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no zakat on less than five wasqs, no zakat on less than five camels, and no zakat on less than five uqiyahs."
أن رسول الله ﷺ بعث رجلا من بني مخزوم على الصدقة، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: ليس فيما دون خمسة أوسق صدقة، ولا فيما دون خمس ذود صدقة، وليس فيما دون خمس أواق صدقة.
Tabarani related it in Al-Kabir (1/295), from Husayn bin Ishaq Tustari and Yahya bin Zakariya Saji, who both said, Musa bin Abdul-Rahman Masruqi told us, Abu Usama told us, Shubah told us, from Hakam, from Ibn Abu Rafi, from his father, and he mentioned it.Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Usama is Hammad bin Usama bin Zayd, one of the narrators found in all six major collections. Ibn Abu Rafi is Ubaydullah bin Abu Rafi Madani, the freed slave of the Prophet ﷺ. He was the scribe of Ali, and he was trustworthy, one of the narrators found in all six major collections.Haythami mentioned it in Al-Majmu (3/70) and remained silent about it.
