The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no zakat due upon a Muslim for his slave or his horse."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: ليس على المسلم في عبده ولا في فرسه صدقة.
Malik narrated it in zakat (37) from Abdullah bin Dinar, from Sulayman bin Yasar, from Arak bin Malik, from Abu Hurairah, and he related the hadith. Muslim narrated it in zakat (982), Yahya bin Yahya told us, saying, "I read it to Malik." Bukhari narrated it in zakat (1463) through another route from Sulayman bin Yasar, with his chain of transmission. And in Muslim's version, from the hadith of Ibn Wahb, who said, "Makhrama told me, from his father, from Arak bin Malik," who said, "I heard Abu Hurairah relating from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said, 'There is no charity due on a slave except the charity of Fitr.'"
