The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I had forbidden you from visiting graves, but now visit them, for there is a lesson in them. I had forbidden you from nabidh, but now drink it, though I do not permit any intoxicant. And I had forbidden you from storing the meat of sacrificial animals, but now eat from it."
Ahmad (11329) narrated it from Yahya bin Adam, who said, Ibn Mubarak narrated to us, from Usama, from Muhammad bin Yahya bin Habban, from his paternal uncle, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he related it. Its isnad is hasan on account of Usama, who is Usama bin Zayd Laythi Madani, whose hadith is hasan.Hakim also narrated it in Mustadrak (1/374) through the route of Usama bin Zayd with his isnad, and said, "Sahih according to the criterion of Muslim." I say, it is as he said, except that Nasai criticized Usama bin Zayd, saying he is not strong, while Abu Hatim regarded him favorably, and Ajli said he is trustworthy. The summary regarding him, as Hafiz said, is "truthful but prone to error," so there is no harm in citing him as corroboration, since I hope he did not err in this particular hadith. The paternal uncle of Muhammad bin Habban is Wasi bin Habban bin Munqidh, a companion, son of a companion.Bazzar also narrated it in Kashf Astar (861) through another route, and in it, "I forbade you from eating the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days, so now eat it and store it. I forbade you from visiting graves, so now visit them, but do not say anything that angers the Lord. I forbade you from using certain vessels, so now make nabidh in them, but every intoxicant is forbidden."Bazzar said, "Amr and Muhammad each narrated hadiths that were not corroborated." I say, Umar here is Umar bin Muhammad bin Zayd bin Abdullah bin Umar bin Khattab, who is trustworthy and among the narrators of the two sahih collections, and likewise his father Muhammad, who is among the narrators accepted by the wider community of scholars. Haythami mentioned this in Majma (3/58) and said, "Its narrators are the narrators of the sahih." So the lack of corroboration for their individual hadiths is not harmful, since the narrators before and after them in the isnad are trustworthy.
