Bara bin Azib reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What do you think of the joy of a man whose mount has escaped from him, dragging its reins through a barren land with no food or water, while it carries his food and drink? He searches for it until it exhausts him. Then it passes by the trunk of a tree, its reins catch on it, and he finds it caught there."We said, "An intense joy, Messenger of Allah."He said, "By Allah, Allah is even more joyful at the repentance of His servant than that man is at finding his mount."

عن البراء بن عازب قال

قال رسول الله ﷺ: كيف تقولون بفرح رجل انفلتت منه راحلته تجر زمامها بأرض قفر ليس بها طعام ولا شراب وعليها له طعام وشراب فطلبها حتى شق عليه، مرت بجذل شجرة فتعلق زمامها فوجدها متعلقة به؟ قلنا: شديدا يا رسول الله. فقال: أما والله لله أشد فرحا بتوبة عبده من الرجل براحلته.
