Tabarani narrated it in Al-Awsat, Majma Bahrayn (1297), from Muhammad bin Abdullah Hadrami, from Husayn bin Yazid Tahhan, from Hafs bin Ghiyath, from Asim Ahwal, from Muhammad bin Sirin, from Anas bin Malik, who related it. Diya Maqdisi also narrated it from him in Al-Mukhtara (2594). Bazzar narrated it in Kashf Astar (442) through another route, from Hafs bin Ghiyath, from Ashath, from Hasan, from Anas, that the Prophet ﷺ regarding prayer among the graves. In this narration the prohibition against praying among the graves is general, and this general wording would include the funeral prayer. This restriction also appears in Tabarani's narration as "over the graves."Tabarani said, "No one narrated it from Asim except Hafs, and Husayn narrated it alone."I say, Husayn bin Yazid Tahhan was described by Abu Hatim as "lenient in hadith," and Dhahabi followed him in Al-Kashif, as did Ibn Hajar. However, a number of scholars narrated from him, among them Abu Dawud, and Muslim outside of Sahih [Muslim], as well as Abu Zura Razi and others. Ibn Hibban included him in Al-Thiqat (1888), so he does not fall below the rank of "saduq." For this reason Haythami graded it hasan in Al-Majma (3/36). It also has corroborating narrations in Bazzar's Kashf Astar (442, 441, 443).
