We were at a funeral when Abu Hurairah took Marwan by the hand and the two of them sat down before the body was laid down. Then Abu Saeed came, took Marwan by the hand, and said, "Get up. By Allah, this man knows that the Prophet ﷺ forbade us from doing that."Abu Hurairah said, "He has spoken the truth."
كنا في جنازة فأخذ أبو هريرة بيد مروان فجلسا قبل أن توضع، فجاء أبو سعيد (الخدري) فأخذ بيدي مروان فقال: قم، فوالله لقد علم هذا أن النبي ﷺ نهانا عن ذلك فقال أبو هريرة: صدق.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Funerals (1309) from Ahmad bin Yunus, who said, Ibn Abu Dhib told us, from Saeed Maqburi, from his father Abu Saeed, and he related it.
