The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah will gather the people on the Day of Resurrection on a single plain. Then the Lord of the Worlds will appear before them and say, 'Let every person follow what they used to worship.' So the cross will be made manifest before its devotee, the images before those who worshipped them, and the fire before its worshippers. They will follow what they used to worship, and the Muslims will remain. Then the Lord of the Worlds will appear before them and ask, 'Will you not follow the people?' They will reply, 'We seek refuge in Allah from You, we seek refuge in Allah from You. Allah is our Lord, and this is our place until we see our Lord.' All the while, He commands them and forbids them. Then He will conceal Himself and appear again, asking, 'Will you not follow the people?' They will reply, 'We seek refuge in Allah from You, we seek refuge in Allah from You. Allah is our Lord, and this is our place until we see our Lord.' All the while, He commands them and forbids them."The companions asked, "Will we see Him, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Do you have any difficulty seeing the moon on the night of the full moon?"They said, "No, Messenger of Allah."He said, "You will have no difficulty seeing Him at that hour. Then He will conceal Himself, then appear again and make Himself known to them. He will say, 'I am your Lord, so follow Me.' The Muslims will rise, and the Bridge will be set in place. They will pass over it like swift horses and riding beasts, their words upon it being, 'Safety, safety.'The people of the Fire will remain, and a group of them will be cast into it. It will be asked, 'Are you full?' and it will reply, 'Is there any more?' Then another group will be cast into it, and it will be asked, 'Are you full?' and it will reply, 'Is there any more?' until, when they have been crammed into it, the Most Merciful will place His foot upon it, causing parts of it to fold against others, and He will say, 'Enough.' It will say, 'Enough, enough.'When Allah has admitted the people of Paradise into Paradise and the people of the Fire into the Fire, death will be brought forth in the form of a speckled ram and made to stand upon the wall between the people of Paradise and the people of the Fire. Then it will be announced, 'People of Paradise!' and they will look out in fear. Then it will be announced, 'People of the Fire!' and they will look out hopefully, anticipating intercession. Both the people of Paradise and the people of the Fire will be asked, 'Do you recognize this?' Both groups will answer, 'We recognize it. It is death, which was assigned to us.' It will be laid down and slaughtered upon the wall between Paradise and the Fire. Then it will be announced, 'People of Paradise, eternity with no death. People of the Fire, eternity with no death.'"
Tirmidhi (2557) narrated it from Qutayba, who said, Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad told us, from Ala bin Abdul-Rahman, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it. Ibn Khuzayma also narrated it in Tawhid (150) through Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad Darawardi, with the same chain, similarly.Abu Isa Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith."I say, it is only hasan, because of Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad Darawardi, who is disputed, even though he is among the narrators found in all the major collections. Abu Zura, Nasai, and others criticized him, while others deemed him acceptable, and his hadith is hasan.
