Tirmidhi (997) narrated it from Ibn Abu Umar, who said, Bishr bin Sari told us, from Zaida, from Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel, from Jabir, and he related it. Imam Ahmad (14521) also narrated it through the route of Zaida with his chain of transmission. Its chain is hasan because of Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqeel, for there is disagreement about him, though he is hasan in hadith.The namirah is a cloak with white and black stripes, or a woolen wrap worn by the bedouin. It is reported in a hadith of Anas that he said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for a namirah and shrouded him in it. He said, when it was pulled up over his head his feet showed, and when it was pulled down over his feet his head showed. Imam Ahmad (12300) narrated this, and it contains Usama bin Zayd Laythi. Bukhari said, "Usama bin Zayd made a mistake in it, for the correct version is that it is the hadith of Jabir bin Abdullah."See the chapter on burying a group of people in a single grave.
