Ibn Abu Mulayka reported,

Abu Amr Zakwan, the freed slave of Ayesha, reported that Ayesha used to say, "Among the blessings Allah bestowed upon me is that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away in my house, on my day, and between my chest and throat, and that Allah joined my saliva with his at the moment of his death.Abdul-Rahman came in holding a tooth-stick while I was supporting the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I saw him looking at it, and I knew he wanted the tooth-stick. I asked, 'Shall I take it for you?' He nodded yes. So I softened it for him. Before him was a vessel, or a container (Umar was uncertain which), containing water. He began dipping his hands into the water and wiping his face with them, saying, 'There is no god but Allah. Indeed, death has its agonies.'Then he raised his hand and began saying, 'With the highest companions,' until his soul was taken and his hand fell."
