Ata reported,

Ibn Umar reported that whenever he was in Mecca and prayed the Friday prayer, he would move forward and pray two rakahs, then move forward again and pray four. When he was in Medina, he would pray the Friday prayer, then return to his house and pray two rakahs there, not praying in the mosque. When he was asked about this, he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do that."In another narration, Ata said, "I saw Ibn Umar praying after the Friday prayer. He would shift slightly away from the spot where he had prayed the Friday prayer, only a little, and pray two rakahs. Then he would walk a bit further than that and pray four rakahs."Ibn Jurayj said, I asked Ata, "How many times did you see Ibn Umar do this?"He replied, "Many times."
