Abu Hurairah reported,
The Prophet ﷺ said, "Adam and Musa debated with one another.Musa said to him, 'Adam, you are our father. You disappointed us and caused us to be expelled from Paradise.'Adam replied to him, 'Musa, Allah chose you for His direct speech and inscribed the Tablets for you with His own hand.'"

Bukhari related it in the Chapter on Divine Decree (6614), and Muslim in the Chapter on Divine Decree (2652), both from the hadith of Sufyan, from Amr bin Dinar, from Tawus, who said, "I heard Abu Hurairah," and he then mentioned it.
