The Prophet ﷺ used to visit Quba every Saturday, sometimes walking and sometimes riding, and Abdullah ﷺ used to do the same.
كان النبي ﷺ يأتي قباء كل سبت ماشيا وراكبا، وكان عبد الله ﷺ يفعله.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of the Merit of Prayer in the Masjid of Makkah and Madinah (1193), and Muslim in the Book of Hajj (1399/520), both from the hadith of Abdullah bin Dinar, from Ibn Umar, as mentioned. The wisdom behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ visiting the masjid of Quba on Saturday is that the people of Quba would attend Friday prayer at the masjid of Madinah, like other people of the surrounding villages, except for the sick and those with valid excuses. So the Prophet ﷺ chose Saturday to visit them and check on their affairs, as a reward for the warm welcome they had given him when he arrived among them as a migrant from Makkah.
