The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to some people who were praying while seated due to illness, and he said, "The prayer of one who sits is worth half the prayer of one who stands."
خرج رسول الله ﷺ على ناس وهم يصلون قعودا من مرض، فقال: إن صلاة القاعد على النصف من صلاة القائم.
Ibn Majah (1230), Nasai in Kubra (1364), Imam Ahmad (13236, 13517), and Abu Yaala (4336) all narrated it through the hadith of Abdullah bin Jafar, from Ismail bin Muhammad, from Anas bin Malik, who related it. Its chain is hasan because of Abdullah bin Jafar, who is Ibn Abdul-Rahman bin Miswar bin Makhrama, there being no harm in him, and he is among the narrators of Muslim. It has another chain narrated by Imam Ahmad (12395), Abu Yaala (3582), and Abdul-Razzaq (4121), all through the hadith of Ibn Jurayj, who said, Ibn Shihab said, Anas bin Malik informed me, saying, "The Prophet ﷺ came to Madinah..." and he related the hadith. This serves as a corroboration of the first chain.
