Abu Idris reported,

A man passed by, so I got up and went to him and said, "This man narrated to me a hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Have you heard it?" referring to Muaz.He replied, "He would not narrate to you anything but the truth. So tell me what he said."I informed him of it.He said, "I have indeed heard this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," meaning the saying that those who love one another for the sake of Allah will be shaded by Allah beneath the shade of His Throne on the Day when there is no shade but His, "and I have heard what is even better than it."I asked, "May Allah have mercy on you, what is better than it?"He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reporting from Allah that He said, 'My love is assured for those who love one another for My sake, My love is assured for those who maintain ties with one another for My sake, My love is assured for those who visit one another for My sake, and My love is assured for those who give generously to one another for My sake.' I do not know with which of them He began."I asked, "Who are you, may Allah have mercy on you?"He replied, "I am Ubada bin Samit."

عن أبي إدريس عائذ الله قال

مر رجل فقمت إليه، فقلت: إن هذا حدثني بحديث رسول الله ﷺ هل سمعته؟ يعني معاذا. قال: ما كان يحدثك إلا حقا، فأخبرته. قال: قد سمعت هذا من رسول الله ﷺ-يعني المتحابين في الله يظلهم الله في ظل عرشه، يوم لا ظل إلا ظله، وما هو أفضل منه. قلت: أي رحمك الله وما هو أفضل منه؟ قال: سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يأثر عن الله عز وجل قال: حقت محبتي للمتحابين في، وحقت محبتي للمتواصلين في، وحقت محبتي للمتزاورين في، وحقت محبتي للمتباذلين في، ولا أدري بأيتها بدأ. قلت: من أنت رحمك الله؟ قال: أنا عبادة بن الصامت.
