I asked Ayesha about the night prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She said, "He would pray for a long part of the night standing, and for a long part of the night sitting. When he recited standing, he would bow from a standing position, and when he recited sitting, he would bow from a sitting position."
Muslim reported it in the Book of the Prayer of Travelers (109/730), from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, Muaz bin Muaz narrated to us, from Humayd, from Abdullah bin Shaqiq Aqeeli, and he mentioned it.He also reported it through the hadith of Muhammad bin Sirin, from Abdullah bin Shaqiq, from her, and in it, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray a great deal, both standing and sitting. When he began the prayer standing, he would bow standing, and when he began the prayer sitting, he would bow sitting."
