I said, "Messenger of Allah, I have not seen you fast in any month as much as you fast in Shaban."He replied, "That is a month people neglect, between Rajab and Ramadan. It is a month in which deeds are raised up to the Lord of the Worlds, and I love for my deeds to be raised while I am fasting."
Nasai (2357) narrated it from Amr bin Ali, from Abdul-Rahman, who said, Thabit bin Qays Abu Ghusn, a shaykh from the people of Madinah, narrated to us, saying, Abu Saeed Maqburi narrated to me, saying, Usama bin Zayd narrated to me, and he related it.Imam Ahmad (21753) also narrated it from Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi, from Thabit bin Qays, and he added in his hadith, "I said, 'Monday and Thursday?' He said, 'Those are two days on which deeds are presented to the Lord of the worlds, and I like my deeds to be presented while I am fasting.'"Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Thabit bin Qays, for his hadith is hasan.
