I asked Ayesha, the Mother of the Believers, "With what words did the Prophet of Allah begin his prayer when he rose at night?"She replied, "When he rose at night, he would begin his prayer with these words, 'O Allah, Lord of Jibrail, Mikail, and Israfil, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, You judge between Your servants concerning that in which they used to differ. Guide me, by Your leave, to the truth concerning that about which there is disagreement. Indeed, You guide whom You will to a straight path.'"
سألت عائشة أم المؤمين: بأي شيء كان نبي الله يفتتح صلاته إذا قام من الليل؟ قالت: كان إذا قام من الليل افتتح صلاته: اللهم رب جبرائيل وميكائيل وإسرافيل. فاطر السماوات والأرض، عالم الغيب والشهادة، أنت تحكم بين عبادك فيما كانوا فيه يختلفون، اهدني لما اختلف فيه من الحق بإذنك إنك تهدي من تشاء إلى صراط مستقيم.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Prayer of Travelers (770) through various routes from Umar bin Yunus, who said, "Ikrima bin Ammar narrated to us, who said, 'Yahya bin Abu Kathir narrated to us, who said, "Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman narrated to me,"'" and he mentioned it.
