When the Prophet ﷺ rose at night to perform tahajjud, he would say, "O Allah, to You belongs all praise. You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all who are in them. To You belongs all praise. To You belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all who are in them. To You belongs all praise. You are the Light of the heavens and the earth. To You belongs all praise. You are the Owner of the heavens and the earth. To You belongs all praise. You are the Truth, Your promise is true, the meeting with You is true, Your word is true, Paradise is true, the Fire is true, the prophets are true, Muhammad is true, and the Hour is true. O Allah, to You I have submitted, in You I have believed, upon You I have relied, to You I have turned in repentance, by Your help I have disputed, and to You I have brought my judgment. So forgive me what I have done before and what I will do later, what I have concealed and what I have made public. You are the One who brings forward and You are the One who delays. There is no god but You. There is no god other than You."Sufyan said, Abdul-Kareem Abu Umaya added, "And there is no power and no strength except through Allah."
كان النبي ﷺ إذا قام من الليل يتهجد قال: اللهم لك الحمد أنت قيم السماوات والأرض ومن فيهن، ولك الحمد لك ملك السماوات والأرض ومن فيهن، ولك الحمد أنت نور السماوات والأرض، ولك الحمد أنت مالك السماوات والأرض، ولك الحمد أنت الحق، ووعدك الحق، ولقاءك حق، وقولك حق، والجنة حق والنار حق، والنبيون حق، ومحمد حق، والساعة حق. اللهم لك أسلمت، وبك آمنت، وعليك توكلت، وإليك أنبت، وبك خاصمت، وإليك حاكمت، فاغفر لي ما قدمت وما أخرت، وما أسررت، وما أعلنت، أنت المقدم، وأنت المؤخر لا إله إلا أنت لا إله غيرك. قال سفيان: وزاد عبد الكريم أبو أمية: ولاحول ولا قوة إلا بالله.
Bukhari narrated it in tahajjud (1120), and Muslim in the prayer of travelers (769), both from the hadith of Sufyan, from Sulayman bin Abu Muslim Ahwal, from Tawus, who heard Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it. Malik narrated it in the Quran (34) from Abu Zubayr Makki, from Tawus Yamani, from Abdullah bin Abbas, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he rose to pray in the depths of the night, would say what has been mentioned, and in it, "You are the sustainer of the heavens and the earth" in place of "sustainer of the heavens...", and at the end of the hadith he said, "You are my God, there is no god but You." Muslim narrated it (769) from Qutayba bin Saeed, from Malik. It is cited in Minna Kubra (2/385), and in another version Ibn Abbas said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, during tahajjud, would say, after saying, "Allah is greatest."
