The Prophet ﷺ prayed in a patterned cloak that had markings on it. Afterward he said, "These markings distracted me. Take it to Abu Jahm and bring me his plain woolen garment instead."
أن النبي ﷺ صلى في خميصة لها أعلام فقال: شغلتني أعلام هذه، اذهبوا بها إلى أبي جهم، وائتوني بأنبجانية.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Adhan (752), and Muslim in the Book of Mosques (556), both from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Zuhri, from Urwa, from Ayesha, and he related it. For more, see the collected chapters on where prayer may be performed.
