The Prophet ﷺ said in a long hadith, "Allah has commanded you to pray, so when you pray do not turn your faces away, for Allah sets His face directly toward the face of His servant during his prayer as long as he does not turn away."
أن النبي ﷺ قال في حديث طويل وإن الله أمركم بالصلاة، فإذا صليتم فلا تلتفتوا، فإن الله ينصب وجهه لوجه عبده في صلاته ما لم يلتفت.
Tirmidhi narrated it (2864) from Muhammad bin Ismail, who said, Musa bin Ismail told us, and from Muhammad bin Bashshar, who said, Abu Dawud Tayalisi told us, both of them from Aban bin Yazid, who said, Yahya bin Abu Kathir told us, from Zayd bin Salam, that Abu Salam told him that Harith Ashari told him, and he mentioned the same in a long hadith that will come later in the section on parables.It is also found in Musnad Abu Dawud Tayalisi (1257). Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih (483, 930), as did Ibn Hibban (6233), and Hakim (1/236), who said it meets the criteria of the two sheikhs. Tirmidhi said, hasan sahih, unique.Muhammad bin Ismail said, Harith Ashari was a companion of the Prophet, and he has other hadiths besides this one. He also said, Abu Salam's name was Mamtur.I say, Mamtur is trustworthy, one of the narrators relied upon by Muslim.
