The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Differ from the Jews, for they do not pray in their sandals or their leather socks."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: خالفوا اليهود، فإنهم لا يصلون في نعالهم، ولا خفافهم.
Abu Dawud (652) narrated it from Qutayba bin Saeed, who said, Marwan bin Muawiya Fazari told us, from Hilal bin Maymun Ramli, from Yaala bin Shaddad bin Aws, from his father, and then he related the hadith. In it are Hilal bin Maymun and his teacher Yaala bin Shaddad, both of whom are truthful narrators (saduq). Ibn Hibban (2186) and Hakim (1/260) graded it sahih, both of them narrating it through Marwan bin Muawiya. Hakim said, Sahih. Ibn Hibban added in his version of the hadith, "and the Christians."
