Ibn Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray two rakahs before Dhuhr and two after it, two rakahs after Maghrib in his house, and two rakahs after Isha. He would not pray after Jumuah until he had departed, then he would pray two rakahs.
Malik narrated it in Qasr al-Salah (69) from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, and Bukhari narrated it in Jumuah (937) from Abdullah bin Yusuf, from Malik, with the same wording. Muslim also narrated it in Salat al-Musafirin (729) from Ubaydullah, from Nafi, and in it he said, "As for Maghrib, Isha, and Jumuah, I prayed them with the Prophet ﷺ in his house." Bukhari also narrated it through this route in Tahajjud (1172), and in the version of Ayub, from Nafi, he said, "I memorized ten rakahs from the Prophet ﷺ," and he mentioned the same, except that he placed the two rakahs before Fajr in the position of the two rakahs after Jumuah. Bukhari narrated it in Tahajjud (1180) from Sulayman bin Harb, who said, Hammad bin Zayd narrated to us, from Ayub. And in it he said, "Hafsa narrated to me that whenever the caller gave the adhan and Fajr broke, he would pray two rakahs."As for Ibn Umar's statement, "The Prophet ﷺ used to pray two rakahs before Dhuhr," perhaps he did that on some occasions, otherwise the more common practice was that he ﷺ would pray four rakahs before Dhuhr in the house, as the Mother of the Believers Ayesha reported, and she was more knowledgeable about the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ prayer in his house.
