A blind man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I have no one to guide me to the mosque."He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to grant him a concession to pray in his home, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted it to him. But as the man turned to leave, he called him back and asked, "Do you hear the call to prayer?"The man replied, "Yes."He said, "Then answer it."
أتى النبي ﷺ رجل أعمى فقال: يا رسول الله! إنه ليس لي قائد يقودني إلى المسجد. فسأل رسول الله ﷺ أن يرخص له فيصلي في بيته. فرخص له. فلما ولى دعاه فقال: هل تسمع النداء بالصلاة؟ فقال: نعم. قال: فأجب
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Mosques (653) via Marwan Fazari, from Ubaydullah bin Asam, who said, Yazid bin Asam narrated to us, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it. This blind man is Ibn Umm Maktum, as mentioned in the narration that follows.
