The Prophet ﷺ used to say, "Straighten your rows, straighten your rows, straighten your rows. By the One in whose hand is my soul, I see you from behind me just as I see you from in front of me."
أن النبي ﷺ كان يقول: استووا استووا، استووا فوالذي نفسي بيده إني لأراكم من خلفي، كما أراكم من بين يدي.
Nasai (813) reported it. He said, Abu Bakr bin Nafi told us, he said, Bahz bin Assad told us, he said, Hammad bin Salama told us, from Thabit, from Anas, and he mentioned the hadith. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Ahmad (13838) also reported it, from Affan, and Abu Yaala (3501, edited by Athari) reported it from Zuhayr, from Affan, Hammad told us, with the same wording, except that he mentioned "Straighten your rows" only twice.Abu Yaala (3277) also reported it, from Abdul-Rahman bin Sallam Jumahi, Hammad told us, from Thabit and Humayd, and in it, he used to say, "Straighten your rows," twice or three times, then he mentioned the rest of the hadith in the same way. Abu Yaala said, Humayd added in the hadith, "Straighten your rows and stand close together."
