The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer one day. When he finished, he turned to face us and said, "People, I am your imam, so do not precede me in bowing, in prostration, in standing, or in leaving. For I see you in front of me and behind me."Then he said, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, if you saw what I have seen, you would laugh little and weep much."They asked, "What did you see, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "I saw Paradise and the Fire."
صلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ ذات يوم فلما قضى الصلاة أقبل علينا بوجهه فقال: أيها الناس! إني إمامكم فلا تسبقوني بالركوع ولا بالسجود، ولا بالقيام، ولا بالانصراف، فإني أراكم أمامي ومن خلفي ثم قال: والذي نفس محمد بيده! لو رأيتم ما رأيت لضحكتم قليلا، ولبكيتم كثيرا. قالوا: وما رأيت يا رسول الله؟ قال: رأيت الجنة والنار.
Muslim narrated it in "The Prayer" (426) via Ali bin Mushir, from Mukhtar bin Fulful, from Anas, as mentioned. He also narrated it via Jareer, from Mukhtar, but it does not contain "nor with leaving," and Abu Dawud narrated it (624) via Zaidah, from Mukhtar, in which it says, "he urged them to pray, and forbade them from leaving before he finished the prayer."
