Itban bin Malik used to lead his people in prayer even though he was blind.
أن عتبان بن مالك كان يؤم قومه وهو أعمى.
Malik narrated it in Qasr al-Salah (86), from Ibn Shihab, from Mahmud bin Rabi, and he mentioned it. Bukhari narrated it in Adhan (667), from Ismail, from Malik, in the same manner. Muslim narrated it in Masajid (special number 264), from the hadith of Mamar, from Zuhri, in a different context, in which it states that he was an old man who had lost his sight, and he was the imam of his people.
