When the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ illness grew severe, he was told that it was time for prayer. He said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer."Ayesha said, "Abu Bakr is a tender-hearted man. When he recites, weeping overcomes him."He said, "Tell him to lead the prayer."She raised the matter with him again.He said, "Tell him to lead the prayer. You are like the women around Yusuf."
لما اشتد برسول الله ﷺ وجعه، قيل له الصلاة فقال: مروا أبا بكر فليصل بالناس قالت عائشة: إن أبا بكر رجل رقيق إذا قرأ غلبه البكاء، قال: مروه فيصلي فعاودته قال: مروه فيصلي، إنكن صواحب يوسف.
Bukhari (682) narrated it from Yahya bin Sulayman, who said, Ibn Wahb told us, who said, Yunus told me, from Ibn Shihab, from Hamza bin Abdullah bin Umar, that he informed him from his father, and he related it.Bukhari said, Zubaydi, Zuhri's nephew, and Ishaq bin Yahya Kalbi followed him in narrating from Zuhri. Aqeel and Maamar said, from Zuhri, from Hamza, from the Prophet ﷺ. End.
